Press pastry into an ungreased 9 inch fluted tart pan with removable bottom; trim edges and set aside.
In a large saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch and salt. Stir in cherries and bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly for 1-2 minutes or until thickened.
Remove from heat and stir in extract.
Pour filling mixture into prepared crust.
In medium bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar and almonds. Cut in butter until coarse crumbs are formed.
Sprinkle topping over filling and bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes or until topping is golden brown.
Cool on a wire rack.
