In a skillet, heat butter over medium-high heat and add in sliced mushroom. Cook until softened and slightly browned, about 5 minutes.
Add in onion, salt & pepper, and Worcestershire sauce to the mushrooms and cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
While the mushroom and onion mixture is cooking, add beef patties to the grill or new skillet and cook until internal temperature reaches 155°F. Top with a slice of Swiss cheese before and melt for the last 1-2 minutes of cooking.
Serve beef patties on your favorite burger buns, and top generously with caramelized mushrooms and onions. Enjoy!
